Rainbows!!!

We were just coming from Church on a Sunday night after it had been raining hard. Never would we have known that there was a surprise for us when we got out of Church! 

A entire FULL rainbow spread it's colors out over down town Columbia. The first time we saw it, it was over our Church, which I thought was God's blessings to our Church!

When the rainbow started to fade, the sun went down making a glorious sun set, the results of the rainbow! 

Plants I'm growing in my garden

This is Catnip! I have been growing this since the end of last winter. It was unexpected to live, and grew by winter sowing. It is now the biggest herb I'm growing right now. I have many herbs because they are my favorite plants especially to grow.

This is one of my favorite herbs- Lemon Balm. This lemon balm has a story behind it! Here is the story, if you would like to read it:
I was on a prayer walk about a month ago or so, and Jesus saw that I really wanted lemon balm because it was my favorite plant. I couldn't find the seed for it in stores or find one that I could buy that was already growing. So, as I'm walking under my favorite oak tree in my yard that I call the Jesus tree, I saw this plant that I have never seen wild growing or anything. It looked like an herb. I sat down beside it, touched it, then sniffed my fingers. It was odd, yes, but I found that it smelled like lemon, the kind of lemon that was on lemon balm! It looked like lemon balm too! I dug it up and transplanted it in my herb garden. Since then, the lesson that I have learned from the lemon balm is that the biggest lemon balm plant seems to represent God and all the little sprouts represent his children! When I think that, the story of Jesus telling his disciples "Let the little children come to me" (Matthew 19:13-15). Now I call the regular lemon balm not just a regular name; I call it Spiritual Lemon Balm.

If you have Lemon Balm, here is a recipe on making Lemon Balm tea:

Ingredients:
Sugar
Boiling water to fill 1 regular size cup
1 tea bag (if wanted, you may add flavor by putting any flavored tea bag)
8-10 leaves of Lemon Balm

Instructions:
Put leaves and tea bag into water in small sauce pan. Boil on high, after boiled wait for 3-5 minuets to seep. Drain the tea into the cup, not with the leaves or tea bag. Add the amount of sugar you would like.


 

About Me!

In case you don't know who I am, this blog post will tell you all about me. In this picture (above) I'm with my sister, Mabry. As you can see, I love to cook, but the problem is that if I want to cook, she wants to cook with me. So, we both like cooking! Now you might think that this is my only sister, but...

My sister has an identical twin! This is an old picture of my sisters, though it still gives you a picture of what they look like. In just a minute I am going to share my family's talents with you. First, though, I will share my sister's talents and special spiritual gifts. The twin on the left plays the harp and violin. The twin on the right plays the harp and piano. They both can twirl a baton as well, and they have many more spiritual gifts that God  has given them. You would think that I have only these two sisters. I also have a 4-year-old brother.

Jesus has given my family many talented gifts. I am so thankful that I am able to share them with other people so I can tell others about Jesus Christ the Holy son of God. One of my spiritual gifts are to give. I would like to encourage you to donate money to the homeless. At my Church, we have a feed the homeless program on every 4th Saturday of the month, and anybody who has the heart for the hungry, you can come and help feed!  Ever since my first time feeding the homeless, I have had the heart to help. I love to serve and donate money to the poor with a cheerful heart! My family loves to do this as well. If you would like to donate, please leave a commit with your name and email address. My hobbies: I love to twirl my baton, garden, (I have taken the Junior Master Gardening class at River Banks zoo... It's really fun!) play my harp and violin, compose music, listen to 89.7 WMHK, clean the kitchen, school, (I am home schooled, so is the rest of my family) write and read, swim at Lake Murray and sing!!!!

Birds Nest

Just thought I would share a quick story with you about something in our front yard. My sister, Mabry, has been studying about birds and loves them a LOT. Well, it seems like God has given Mabry a miracle- we never really have seen any nest around our house before Mabry started studying birds, but when Mabry started the study, a scarlet tanager built it's nest in my favorite oak tree right outside Mabry's window! A scarlet tanager is also a bird that we have never seen before! So we watched the mommy bird care for her babies when they hatched, and the daddy bird bring the mommy bird food for her and her babies. Once the babies were strong enough, they fell out of the tree and Mabry had a chance to save them; she picked them up with a glove on her hand and put them back in the nest. Later, we relized that the babies were learning how to fly....and boy, the mommy and daddy birds were MAD at us for messing with their babies! Now strong and able to fly, the baby scarlet tanagers fly around the trees around our house and we now watch them get their beautiful colored feathers!

These are more birds nest that Mabry has found over the months.

Guess what??????? It's CRAFT TIME!!! Occasionally I will start putting crafts and fun ideas for you to make for the Holidays! Today's fun craft is: Snow flake Window Cleaners.
What you Need:
1. A sheet of Wax paper
2. Snow Flake coloring sheet (It's best if you get a coloring sheet with many small, different Snowflakes on it)
3. Fabric Glitter Glue
How to make it:
1. Take your coloring sheet and put it under your Wax paper.
2. Take the fabric glue and trace the snowflakes with it.
3. Remove the coloring sheet out from under the wax paper carefully.
4. Let the snowflakes on the wax paper dry over night or about 4-5 hours in the day. When Snowflakes are completely dry, carefully peel them off the wax paper and stick them to your window (Make sure your window is clean first)!

This is sort of a late post, I've just been busy with many things and I don't have much time anymore to blog. This is a little snake I found on my front porch a couple of weeks ago. I kept it for a few days to study it and research what kind of snake it was. I know it is not a baby King Snake though it looks like it. It is not a rattler, I don't think. My mom found the excact picture of it on the computer, but the picture did not have a caption or anything that said what kind of snake it was. It might be a type of worm snake, and worm snakes are about the size of this snake here. I wanted to keep it to see if it would grow into a big snake, and I thought this about 3 days after I found it, and I went to go check on it. Well, there was one problum...the snake was gone! I have no idea where it went. I surched and surched, but I just could not find it! By the way, this snake was about 10" and could curl up in the palm of my hand, and my palm is not that big. I already miss my little Fred, the ____________ snake. That _______(blank) means whatever kind of snake it is. If you didn't know, I LOVE snakes no madder what kind they are. And who knows, I could have a python for a pet! My favorite snakes though are green tree pythons. If you have any clue what kind of snake this is, please leave a commit saying what kind of snake it is, so if I might find another one like it, I will know excacly what it is.
